Diagnostic assessment of
neurological conditions
Many neurological conditions can cause cognitive changes. Some of these conditions include:

A neuropsychological assessment can help identify the pattern of change in your thinking skills, which will aid diagnosis. The results from a neuropsychological assessment are typically considered alongside results from neuroimaging (e.g. MRI or CT scan).

If you're worried about changes in your cognition, it's a good idea to start by speaking to your GP. They will rule out any other physical health causes first (e.g. infection, changes in hormones etc) and make any necessary referrals.
